You are invited to join us for our eighth annual "Every Girl Matters Day," on Oct 11, 2020. The British Columbia government has officially proclaimed this day as Every Girl Matters in conjunction with the United Nations "Day of the Girl." A day to recognize the global rights of girls around the world.
This year, GirlKIND and The Reach are celebrating the 8th Every Girl Matters Day with our Kindness Matters contest, a physically-distant community art project, and a virtual celebration that will take place on October 11th.
Download and print a Kindness Matters Contest submission form then complete the form by adding your story of kindness during COVID-19. Share your story of kindness during these pandemic times. Perhaps you were a recipient of an act of kindness or maybe you showed kindness to someone and helped make their lives a little brighter. We want to hear your story! First, second and third place winners will be announced.
Bring your story to The Reach between September 15 and October 7; the first 50 submissions dropped off to The Reach in person will receive a care bag!
While at The Reach, participate in the Community Heart Project by adding words of encouragement to pre-cut paper hearts that will be displayed in the atrium. Finally, tune in to The Reach's Facebook Live on Sunday, October 11 where the winners will be revealed in our virtual Every Girl Matters celebration! Grand prize is a Samsung Galaxy Tablet!
Join us as we empower, educate, inspire and work in solidarity for change within our community.
This is a FREE COMMUNITY EVENT. Brought to you in partnership between GirlKIND and The Reach.
The event is on Oct 11th from 1pm-2pm at The Reach Gallery Museum | 32388 Veterans Way in Abbotsford.
