Last month we sent hundreds of personal care items to a very special home in India that is doing amazing work with girls and women. Their motto: "helping girls help themselves," speaks volumes. Empowering, educating and inspiring young girls and women that they are valued, important and loved. Creating change within their communities one girl at a time. We sent hundreds of useful items for their day-to-day use.

"Secret Daughter," was a FANTASTIC read as many of you suggested. A book by www.shilpigowda.com will be adapted by Canadian filmmaker Deepa Mehta soon.
I finally got around to reading it and could not put it down. I was captivated with Kavita's story line, felt like I was in India experiencing the sights, sounds and smells. The author was inspired to write this book after a visit to an orphanage in India. The stories of motherhood are engaging, families are all created differently. The family you create is more important than the one you're born into. It focuses on infanticide, abandonment and how differently people value a girl.
Enjoyed it very much!
It just takes one girl to make a difference. What are you waiting for? Get involved, join the movement!
